Shredding away…..

🗂️ Paper Cuts & Silent To-Do Lists

Still Decluttering—Even When It’s Not Glamorous

Hello there, friends,

Yes—I’m still here.

And yes—I’m still decluttering.

It’s been slow going lately… because I’ve entered the realm of what I now call:

The Paper Abyss.

📦 Twenty Years of Paperwork

Believe it or not, I’m sorting through boxes of documents that go back over 20 years.

And let me tell you, it’s not the kind of decluttering that brings quick wins or satisfying before-and-after photos.

The real MVP of these past few weeks?

👉 Our shredder.

So far, I’ve filled 10 large black garbage bags with shredded documents. That’s a lot of “just-in-case” paper clutter finally on its way out.

The attic is starting to look a bit more empty, but I’ll be honest—it’s hard to feel accomplished when the change isn’t very visible.

🚣‍♂️ Meanwhile, My Husband…

While I’m knee-deep in dusty files, my husband is on a roll.

This past week, he sold our 15-foot canoe, and has been making a little side income with his own decluttering efforts. He’s proof that this process can feel more rewarding when you start seeing space and money come back into your life.

📅 Looking Ahead (and Up to the Attics)

I’ll be taking part in the course again next month, and I’m actually looking forward to a second round—it’s a chance to go even deeper and let go of even more.

We still have two attics to tackle.

I’m hoping the next pass through them will lighten our load further—both physically and emotionally.

💡 The “Silent To-Do List”

Here’s something fun (and surprisingly profound) I learned last week:

We all have a “silent to-do list.”

What does that mean?

It means we’re surrounded by items that quietly demand our attention—without saying a word.

🧽 A messy kitchen says, “You should clean me.”

📬 A stack of unopened mail says, “Sort me.”

👕 A laundry basket says, “Fold me already!”

The longer we ignore these whispers, the louder they become—until they overwhelm us.

But here’s the magic:

If we tackle each item when it first “speaks,” we take its voice away.

So next time you walk by something that calls for your attention—pause, act, and move on.

That quiet simplicity adds up to peace.

🙋‍♀️ How About You?

How’s your own journey going?

Are you still sorting? Pausing? Starting again?

Any tips or tricks to share?

I’d love to hear them. Truly—this journey is better when we learn from one another.

Whatever pace you’re moving at, you’re still moving.

Don’t forget that.

Wishing you a calm and productive week ahead.

Hugs,

Anke
