Is It Worth Anything?

🧦 A Sock, a Thought, a Little Less Weight

Shifting Focus from More to Meaning

Good afternoon, dear friends,

I hope your week is off to a strong start—and if it’s not, no sweat!

Sometimes momentum comes quietly, and that’s perfectly okay.

🖼️ A Picture That Put It All in Perspective

Today I came across this image, and it truly struck a chord:

“If you’re tired, get rid of one old sock. Or one bad thought. That’s already decluttering.”

It reminded me that progress doesn’t have to be big to matter.

Whether it’s a junk drawer or a lingering regret—if you’re letting go, you’re moving forward.

🛒 Less in, Less Stress

It’s not just about what we remove—

It’s also about what we don’t bring in.

So here’s the real crux of it all:

Decluttering only works if we stop adding.

If we keep buying, the cycle continues.

A few ways to help curb that cycle:

  • Stick to your shopping list
  • Ask yourself: Need or want?
  • Pause before those easy Amazon checkouts (we all know the trap!)

Mindful spending of both money and time is key to building the uncluttered life you crave.

💰 The Hidden Cost of Selling

Let’s talk about selling versus donating.

Selling seems productive, but watch for this hidden truth:

Sometimes the energy cost is too high.

Think about it:

  • Taking photos
  • Messaging back and forth
  • Coordinating pick-ups
  • Following up

It can drain more than it’s worth.

My personal rule of thumb:

Unless it’s worth $100 or more, let it go.

Let it serve someone else. Let it be a gift.

That beloved vase or set of books?

They already gave you joy.

Now let them bring someone else joy too.

That’s the beauty of paying it forward.

🧹 A Little Goes a Long Way

So if you’re low on energy today, don’t overthink it.

Toss one old sock.

Let go of one negative thought.

Recycle that takeout menu you never use.

Voila—you’ve already decluttered.

You’re doing better than you think.

Keep going. Keep breathing. Keep letting go.

Hugs,

Anke
